Childhood Trauma Party Food

WHAT: Homemade finger food taken straight from the latest issue of Family Circle, lovingly prepared by the mother of birthday boy/girl.

WHEN: Any era.

WHY: Party food was special in the way that it was only ever served up at a kid's party where ankle-biters were on the rampage for anything full of sugar and fat that had the ability to either make them sick or send them hypo. Chocolate crackles and fairy bread are favourites still. But what about mashed potato wrapped in a slice of devon and held together with a toothpick? Or the "pig in a blanket" which consisted of a tiny frankfurt rolled up in a greasy slice of bacon?

CHANCES OF REVIVAL: Party food will always be around but hopefully parents today avoid anything with devon in the recipe.
